2017 MEDIA MENTIONS
See who's talking about FestiGals:
In the Press:
It’s a woman’s world, so get away with the girls June 22-24, 2017, for fun and female empowerment at FestiGals, New Orleans’ only just-for-girls festival and fundraiser that’s all about women helping women. It’s a fabulous opportunity for networking, learning, or just enjoying the city with activities that range from personal and professional enrichment seminars to a high-heeled, costumed stroll down Bourbon Street.
FestiGals! The name says it all, and yet there’s more. For the several days of distaff camaraderie and diversions, there are underlying causes, such as the Bodacious Bras Brunch. It benefits the Cancer Association of Greater New Orleans and Breastoration. The Saturday-scheduled event — following an earlier Bloody Mary Mixer — was the centerpiece of the seventh annual FestiGals New Orleans Women’s Weekend Experience, which was created by Diane Lyons, owner of ACCENT-DMC, a meeting and event planning company.
Twenty-five bras -- bedazzled, feathered, glittered, adorned with all sorts of appliques and accoutrements -- stood out from a crowd that itself wasn't shy in attire. Hats, feather boas, an abundance of hot pink -- whether it be part of attire or accessories -- were the prevalent mode of dress for Bodacious Bras for a Cause on June 24 at J.W. Marriott Hotel.
The FestiGals Stiletto Stroll was the first parade I ever did as a Pussyfooter. Our non-profit organization of 120 women over 30 was one of the many dance troupes and walking krewes that helped raise money for New Orleans Family Justice Center.
NEW ORLEANS – FestiGals 2017 impacted the lives of local women by raising more than $46,000 for the Cancer Association of Greater New Orleans (CAGNO), Breastoration and The New Orleans Family Justice Center, during the June 22-24 seventh annual celebration of women.
I spent the weekend at the most fabulous event called FestiGals in New Orleans, LA, USA! It is an annual event that is known as the Women’s Weekend Experience – and that it was! But was it a “Vacation” or a “StayCation”? It was both!!!
FestiGals recently wrapped up their seventh annual extravaganza advancing their mission, which "inspires, connects and celebrates women while supporting causes important to their well being." Tailored to locals (it's as much of a celebration of New Orleans as it is of women), it attracts women from all over the country.
FestiGals hosts New Orleans Women's Weekend Experience - a celebration of women and New Orleans. Created by women, for women! FestiGals celebrating Stiletto Stroll Second Line Parade with Grand Marshall Robin Barnes on Saturday, June 25, 2017 in the French Quarter.
NEW ORLEANS -- There's a new FestiGals diva in town.
The "2017 Grand Diva" is Robin Barnes. Grammy-winning singer Irma Thomas crowned "The Songbird of New Orleans" at a ceremony at the Mardi Gras Museum.
NEW ORLEANS, June 19, 2017 — Two Chicks Walking Tours announced that they will be participating in the annual Bodacious Bras for the Cause fundraiser to provide support for women with cancer. The fundraiser brunch includes a Bloody Mary mixer beforehand, a live art auction, and live music. The centerpiece of the fundraiser is the "Thriver" fashion show. The fashion show showcases women thriving, not merely surviving, in their cancer journeys.
Our founder Kate Gremillion will be speaking during the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Presents: Next Generation of Leaders panel at Festigals this summer.
FestiGals is the Ultimate New Orleans Girlfriend Getaway that celebrates, empowers and connects women. It’s a perfect opportunity to pause for a cause, allowing women to unwind in a safe, festive environment.
