Community Impact

Beneficiaries:

American Heart Association (2019 & 2020)–Heart disease and stroke cause 1 in 3 deaths among women each year – more than all cancers combined. That number can change because 80 percent of cardiac and stroke events may be prevented with education and action. American Heart Association is committed to providing life saving information to women of all ages and ethnicities and increasing gender-focused medical research.

New Orleans Family Justice Center (2016–2018)–The New Orleans Family Justice Center  is a partnership of agencies dedicated to ending family violence, child abuse, sexual assault, and stalking through prevention and coordinated response by providing comprehensive client-centered, empowerment services in a single location.

 

Breastoration (2015–2017)–Breastoration offers education about breast reconstruction options and provides ancillary financial assistance for breast reconstruction when needed, aiding in physical and emotional recovery.
 

Cancer Associations of Greater New Orleans (2012- 2017)CAGNO, provides wigs, prostheses, medication, gas cards and other meaningful support and services to cancer patients in the Greater New Orleans community.

Heart N Hands (2016)–Heart N Hands is a nonprofit  based in New Orleans that empowers young girls and their families to "take their heart health in their hands" by providing heart related information, educational tools and support needed to sustain a heart healthy lifestyle.

New Orleans Women and Children's Shelter (2015)–The New Orleans Women and Children's Shelter is the largest organization dedicated to serving the most underserved and vulnerable population in Greater New Orleans—homeless women and children. Our mission is to enable women and their children to transition from a life of homelessness and poverty to one of stability and self-sufficiency. We provide for families from diverse backgrounds, including women over the age of 18 who are accompanied by children under the age of 18 and women in all stages of their pregnancy.

Metropolitan Center for Women and Children (2014 & 2015)–The mission of  the Metropolitan Center for Women and Children is to break the cycle of violence and aid survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking through advocacy, intervention, empowerment and transformation. 

 

Dress for Success (2011 & 2013)- Dress for Success New Orleans empowers local women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.

 

To date, the Bodacious Bras for a Cause Auction, Bodacious Bra Challenge, Stiletto Stroll and Step Up Second-Line Parade have raised nearly $246,000 with 100% of the proceeds dedicated to women’s causes.
