Tory McPhail, this year’s Celebrity Chef, is a prince of a guy and king of his kitchen in world-famous Commander’s Palace.
A James Beard “Rising Star” Chef and now winner of the Best Chef South award, McPhail was named as one of Saveur magazine’s inaugural “Tastemaker Chefs” in 2012. McPhail was recently honored with the 16th Annual Lafcadio Hearn Award for his significant culinary contributions to Louisiana and the world. He was also awarded the winner of the Great American Seafood Cook-Off in 2009 as well as co-authored Commander’s Wild Side with Martin, a collection of recipes taken from the legendary restaurant’s kitchen. McPhail has served on the Nutrition Advisory Board for Cooking Light magazine and has been a spokesperson for Wild American Shrimp and McCormick’s Old Bay seasoning.
